Rising Horror Cover

welcome to this year's critique event, so Merry CRITmas to you!

This is a nice idea for a book cover or story illustration as it unites so many aspects in one. The fallen and partly withered Bougainvillae flowers gives the whole scene a touch of evanescence. Whereas the magnifying glass reminds me of Sherlock Holmes and brings me back to Victorian times. Then there is the key in the book, a beautifully crafted key which offers mystery and suspence. I cannot read all the hand-written things in the book, but the drawing should give it a magic touch as if the reader has to deal with some kind of spellbook. Of course, it is not...the drawing is nice but is neither a triangle, a pentacle or anything like that and has only the appearance of an old grimmoire. Great concept. It catches the attention of the reader and honestly speaking, it evoked in my the delight to read your piece.

So, hope you do not mind if I add you to my watch as I have already seen some of the books parts in your gallery to better follow you.
