Now, I have a question: in regard to my own work, I've been considering a drastic re-structuring of Rising Horror. I feel that I'm skimming over too much good stuff with the main characters to get to a story which could really be told a lot later. In fact, I'm thinking if I were to publish, it might be best to focus on Sabina's detective stories, Fenton's fantasy world and Elise's peculiar adventures as the person in-between. If anybody has any thoughts on this, I'd love to know what you think.

Whatever I do, I think I need to work a lot on the manuscript before it's near good enough to go to print, but support on DA has demonstrated that there are several people who liked the story/characters/both enough for me to work on it. I think, therefore, that it's fair to tell you that, should I go ahead with the restructure and rewrite, I'll be pulling a lot of the work off DA in order to redo it properly. So, if anybody has any objections, let me know why.

Thank you to everyone, and especially my followers and constructive commenters, for your support over the last couple of years. It really means the world to me!

I think you could save your current version, edit the chapters and then upload the old versions to your stash and link them in the description, so the readers could see both the current and the previous version (and maybe tell you if where it got better and what you could still work on).

But whatever you'll choose to do, good luck with it!:)

Thanks IamNoHere, that's actually a really good idea. I should have thought of it before! I might do that. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

I've reworked a couple of my writings before, and I think, more often than not, the end result is something I'm much more satisfied with. However, I always try to keep my previous drafts saved in case there's something in it that might have been plotted out better, whether it's a sentence, paragraph, timeline, or what have you. I also sort of have a tendency to review my past work to see where I progress and where I lack, so that comes into play as well.

If I were in your shoes, I would test the waters with a restructuring, see where that leads. Try different combinations of ideas. Write like a madman (or madwoman, perhaps) and don't hesitate to scratch out something if it doesn't work or add onto something to flesh out your ideas (which could just be for your personal reference, if it doesn't make the cut). Sometimes it can just help to start anew and gain a fresh perspective in order to see your old work from another angle. But, as SuperferretIX said, go with what inspires you the most. If you're happy with what you're doing, that's what matters.

Now, it may just be the fact that it's terribly early in the morning and I've been staring at a screen grinding for gold in an MMO for days on end (SO FUN), but I'm not entirely sure what you mean by focusing on the stories as the person in-between. Perhaps you could elaborate?

Hey Iroken, thanks for the feedback! It's good to see what people think. (On a different topic, I'm glad you've been having fun with that MMO!)

Hmmm, technically I think either approach could still work, but working with one universe/main character at a time might be easier to pace and structure- with Elise as the mysterious go between person. I think it would actually be quite nice to work up gradually to how all of them met and came to terms with the world hopping - Elise might find it comes naturally to her but I'd imagine it should be quite an adjustment to everyone else. But yes, I'd suggesting going with whichever version inspires you the most, as you're the one who has to write it XD

Thanks SuperferretIX! I would agree that it's easier for Elise to work with different worlds than Sabina and Fenton, so it might be good to explore the latter parties and how they adapt.
